CIAA IMPACT
____________________________________
Dear Readers,
The CIAA Tournament is just what we need to bring money to our urban community. It will also bring us together to celebrate during these trying times. Yes, we are happy that there is a change in the White House but the current state of our economy is a constant reminder that we still have far to go.
The CIAA Tournament is a great break from our day to day struggles. So why not take part in its many festivities and celebrate? There are both day parties and night parties to distract us. The CIAA Tournament will not only be a personal relief but also one for local black businesses and venues.
So this week, let's think about the words of Obama's message of spending. To get out of this economic downturn we need to invest in our communities and spend. Last year the Charlotte Regional Visitors Authority, stated that the CIAA Tournament "accounted for direct spending of over $20.5 million."
There will also be an expected crowd of nearly 30,000 visitors, CIAA officials say. With this amount of people spending money, together we will be able to push this economy in the right direction.
This weekend, take the time to celebrate and enjoy the events! After you have done your partying, email us and let us know how everything went. Which events were the best and which ones weren’t worth it.
Can’t wait for the feedback!
Thanks,
Miss Jessica of The Always In The Know Report

QUOTES FROM OUR READERS:
"Thank you. This was even more enlightening about MLK. Thank you for sharing." -P. Schulz; January 20th, 2008.
"Given this is an election year, I would like to see some verbiage on politics. I'm a heartfelt person, so I like reading about relationships and love as well.
Thanks." -J. Marbury; February 1st, 2008.
"Lady...[I] Love receiving the newsletter...Thanks for keeping us...in the know." -S. Thompson; February 7, 2008.
"Hi, Politics is such a hot topic right now. Especially now that I am finding predominantly white churches are forwarding the chain email regarding Barack Obama (accusations of him being a Muslim and his mom was a white atheist). I find religion fits in with it because religious people are being very hypocritical in terms of his mother being an atheist (or once was). I have heard of heated debates through emails regarding this and have had one of my own. Also, love…we love to talk about love! Whether we have it or not…it is always an interesting topic. I’d love to hear from the men in regards to the dating scene in Charlotte." -A. Williams; February 7, 2008.
"Visit www.obamaviralvote.com." -D. Monroe, The Soulful CEO of www.4DaSoul.com; February 14, 2008.
"You Got Your Sexy Back! I am so glad to see the old (In The Know Report) in all it's glory back. You do what others are too trying to do!" -D. Davis; May 2, 2008.
"Thank you for your continued superior efforts. I really appreciate the detailed report. It is very helpful. Keep doing what you do!" -R. Thompson; August 22, 2008.
“Even God gives us the right to choose! So who are we to force someone to live their life a certain way. If anything force people into Christianity like other countries force people into their beliefs...or else you die!!!!! You can find in the Bible many times where God picked the least likely person to get the job done...He didn't go with
qualifications...he went with the one the was willing to be used ...so in the end you could only say it was God who delivered the people.” –S. Malik; September 23, 2008. Click Here To See The Full Report
